Dept. 10 is the Blackstar R&D team responsible for blue sky innovation and design. This team of engineers are all musicians and are constantly researching new ideas to help create your perfect tone. Dept. 10 pedals all use an ECC83 triode valve at their heart, running at more than 200V internally which allows them to deliver organic tone, dynamics and break up. Cab Rig Simulator

Cab Rig is our next-generation DSP speaker simulator that reproduces the sound and feel of a mic’d up guitar cab in incredible detail. Deep-dive using the accompanying software and capture the incredible tones via USB / XLR D.I. out or headphones. Over 250 mic and cab combinations can be saved into one of the three onboard slots. Each cab has a choice of mic type and axis, alongside room mics and master EQ.

Architect Software

The all-new Blackstar Architect software is the interface for controlling and customising many of the advanced features of compatible Blackstar products, including Cab Rig. Architect empowers you to design the sound in your head by unlocking deep editing of patches and providing fine control of your amplifier from your computer. Explore features such as a searchable patch library, and the ability to backup, archive and upload entire setlists of patches to your product. When the inevitable sonic writers block strikes, Architect has a new randomise feature for both amp tones and effects, providing inspiration and a great starting point for new musical ideas.
